My 12 y.o. son who is alarm obsessed has bought a Protec 6000 SSR beacon off Eblag and now discovers that it is addressable only. Since he doesn't have a panel that can do this, is it possible to convert it to conventional use?
Alarm engineers - did you know that up and down the country there's a whole sub-culture of lads setting up alarms in their bedrooms? Mine has begged, borrowed and bought the bits and now he has a Texecom Veritas 8C panel with a door contact, a PIR, sounder and flashing blue beacon and woe betide anybody who walks into his bedroom uninvited! Just go on YouTube and search for alarm tests and you'll realise how big this thing is, they are setting up all kinds of stuff in their rooms and being 30 - 50 years younger than us oldies and having grown up with computers they have no difficulty in getting their heads around microchips and programming sequences. The future looks bright for your profession!
