Collecting and spending tax is not a philanthropic endeavour. Even a yacht varnish addled Tory can get his head around that.
 
I would like there to be a tax that only builders paid. We will use the money to build up the NHS. Are you with me? No? How strange.

Even poor builders? Ones that have suffered injury and cant work?

What about the bosses of big buildding firms receiving big bonuses ?
 
Contributing for the good of others is, for some of us anyway, something we do not because we have to, but because we want to.
When you despise a whole group of people just for existing, i.e. the poor, Muslims, women etc, it's easy to scoff and make absurd statements about philanthropy or some such.
 
Bikerboy wants to sneer at me for being poor, and is irked that I don't confirm his fantasy.
 
Which reinforces my point.

Contributing for the good of others is, for some of us anyway, something we do not because we have to, but because we want to.
I give plenty to charity and volunteer too.
