Provision for electric double oven + electric hob

I'm renovating the kitchen and installing new wiring with a separate ring main for kitchen. The double oven and hob have yet to be chosen, so I'm trying to provide for every possibility and future proof at the same time.

I plan to run 2 separate cables to 45A DP switches (or CCUs) from CU, as advised by spark - one each for electric x2 oven and an electric hob. The only practical site for the switches is either in the brick wall on the other side of a window about 1.5 metres away or in a plasterboard wall about 1.8 metres away.

Can I run cables from the switches in the wall and go under the worktop behind floor cupboards to outlets in the cupboard near to the oven or should I run back up the wall from the switches and over the ceiling to outlets somewhere behind the oven?

Does he have any involvement in certifying the work?

Yes, he does. The original plan was for me to chase brickwork and install cabling to first fix while my mate was away and for him to make connections, test and certify when he got back from his holiday.

Unfortunately, he was taken seriously ill on holiday and is now in hospital being stabilised for a major op. It'll be a while before he's well enough to travel home afterwards and probably a while longer before he's back in action here.

So what are your plans now given that this is notifiable work?

I won't bore you with the minutiae, but, obviously, I'll be needing another spark.

Then find one pronto. Don't do any more work until you have, and you've discussed it with him and got him to tell you what to do, as he is the one you'll be expecting to sign it off.

It might be worth going through the scheme that the original guy was registered with, it might make the transition smoother.
