My concrete path gets an annoying puddle when it rains.

How do I remedy this? I was thinking of cutting the section out and re-filling it.

the easiest thing would be to do the section as follows.
brush it clean and mark 2 lines to at least 100mm past the extent of the puddling width ways.
cover section with 3:1 water-pva and then mix up 3:1 washed sand and cement with pva water mix added.
float over puddle area checking its above it with a straight edge and feather it off at the edges leaving a neat finish, try to match the finish of the existing path with a brushed or non-slip finish
don't walk on it for 2 days
hope this is of some help

'Floating' - is that patting it with a plank of wood on its side?

floating is using a wooden or plastic trowel to smooth it off flat, usually after using a straight edge (batten) to level off
