Hi. So, my garrage lightswitch is a pullcord and it normally goes click click when you turn it off and on.

Today it did one click (turing it off) and it DID turn off. However it only went click. No return click. (Im assuming stuck spring) it is stuck. And no matter how i pull it. (I mean.. How manny ways CAN you pull a cord)

I plan to change it tomorrow. Brand new one. Shops are all shut up now tho.
My question. Will it be safe overnight? Im assuming yes, as it is stuck in the off. But things like this play on my mind.

Thanks again you bunch of stars!!! Love this forum.

I am no electrician, but I really can't see a problem here. From what you wrote, the spring in the switch is gone, so it's switched off for good.
However, for your piece of mind why don't you isolate the garage circuit in your consumer unit until you replaced the switch?

if you're going to the trouble of taking it off, the price of a new one is trivial.

This forum is so friendly and helpfull its untrue!!! Thankyou evrybody. Il replace tomorrow.

Cheers guys!!
