puma 80 pilot

I have a puma 80 it has been messing about with the short burn little heating followed by cool down on top of that the hot water is inconsistent one or other sometimes knocked out the pilot. I’ve previously repaired the PCB which had solved the problem this time tried a new one. Now the Pilot lights but no matter how slowly the button is released it dies. Is this the boiler equivalent of a seven year itch? Any ideas on a fix? If it’s beyond help can anyone recommend a reliable replacement?
