Pump blocked

I have my pump blocked and have taken out various screws in an attempt to access and repair it.
I am now troubled as to how I disconnect the rubber seal from the front fascia so that I can get to the pump (and maybe more to the point: how I reattach it!).

Do I need a special tool? Am I out of my depth?

Any help greatly appreciated.

It might help if you tell the Guys what the appliance is.
