have had a salamander pump installed for my shower but when you turn it on i have to lower the shower head and wait a few seconds for water to flow...the toilet and sink both run off the same pump but dont have this flow problem...toying with the idea of couple of no return valves above the mixer or is there another reason for this problem...

cause you have your shower head in a negative head situation and your pump is a positive head pump.

a rsp is a positive head pump to allow the pump to kick in it needs at least 1 litre/min per side free flow to activate the flow switchs.
it will only work in a positive situation.
if your shower head is less than 2 ft from base of the water tank in loft its in a negative situation.
you'll need to raise the water tank in loft to give more distance from shower head.

ok...not good is there an easier way ...have looked at manual again and there isn t a non return valve on hot would that help...

get rhinestone cowboy back to raise the tank or fit a negative head pump like an salamander esp pump.

what is the distance from the base of tank to the showerhead ?

does the pipework from the pump go up into loft and then down to the bathroom ?
is the pump in the airing cupboard or loft ?
try the shower on fully cold does it start?
