Hi
First post. so hello first of all.
Have recently noticed problem with a two-zone sealed central heating combi system. The downstairs heating works fine and when heating is off the pump goes off in the hot press. Upstairs however, when the heating is on (separate battery powered thermostat controlled) it heats but when the heating upstairs is turned off the pump invariably keeps running (hard to miss it as is so noisy), and will run for about 2 or 3 hours. Can sometimes get it to turn off by turning the thermostat upstairs on/off but doesn't always work.
When it runs we have noticed the hot tank temp drops from 40 degrees to about 20 degrees and the upstairs radiators are heating up when only downstairs heating is on.
Any ideas?
It is an oil central heating system.
