Hi all, my first post and would be grateful for any advice.
I have a pump and sensor on the main hot water pipe coming from the top of the hot water tank. There are 3 sensor settings but whatever is chosen the pump either starts and runs continually or does not run at all. Most of the time I turn off the electric to the pump but just now and again I have another go at getting it to work but again it just runs continually. When it is running there is only a slight improvement in pressure apart from in my converted loft bathroom, which I'm guessing is why the pump was fitted in the first place. So, I thinking about removing the whole thing and filling in with a lenght of 22mm pipe and some compression fittings. The pump is a Grundfoss but looks more like a central heating pump to me. My question is can I just remove the whole thing? Or is there a better pump and sensor out there that will actually turn on and off with the flow of hot water on a reliable basis?
