Hello
I recently had the timer replaced that had failed which was running two yellow motorised pumps which are bolted to both my hot water tanks (sorry don’t know the correct name). The installer gave differing views how to set the timer for when the water will be used.
Could someone clarify? We want: area 1 which is the main house to have hot water ready around 8am and then again at 7pm till 10pm.
The other zone hot water only at 7pm at present.

It was a question of how to set the timer best suited to have the hot water ready at the tap rather than timer specific.

Have you considered using a PIR(S), rather than timers? You fit them, where hot water is likely to be needed, to then run the pump, to provide the instant hot water at the tap. You walk in the bathroom, the pump starts up, triggered by the PIR. When you vacate the bathroom, the pump switches off. It only runs, when it is likely to be needed, saving both electric for the pump, and heat loss from the pipes.

I see. Well these yellow pumps were already there as was the faulty timer. So just went timer replacement as per the plumber suggestion
