Purlings cut - Ideas on repair

Right..

Looking at purchasing a property that has had some loft encrochment.

Basically whoever has done the loft conversion has decided to cut the purlin and support them with bits of wood.

No internal Party wall is present and looks like a Timber frame studded wall has been made.

The plan is to...
Build a party wall upstairs and use gallowes brackets to support the purlins.

would this be an decent repair?

You really should get someone to look at this and give you a better idea of what need doing to correct.. pics would help..
Get an SE to do a survey on the property with aim to check the roof "conversion"..

Its going for auction tommorow, and no more viewings.

simple really factor in the worst scenario watch for the pros and when they stop bidding theres no money in it for them then mrs and mr who don't know about the damage or don't have a clue over bid

I have inspected the roof from outside and it has not bowed or slipped in anyway.

btw..

How do I know whos the "pros"

they stand out off view or at the back and bid with minimum effort [finger small nod] and will generally come in at the last minuet possible

get there early and watch for the silent bidders on other properties

I would have taken an SE along with me
But when I viewed the property it had not gone to auction.
I arranged it through the council. Plan was to re arrange the viewing at a later date...

I went on holiday, came back and found a letter for another viewing on a certain date from the auction company. But I had already missed it! The auction company was not intrested to show me the insides again.
