push fit or not

hi all,
im doing a few plumbing jobs around the house,i have always used comp fittings or end feed ,are push fit fittings ok ,can they be used on mains pressure pipe work,and central heating systems,never heard of any complaints or for that matter any compliments.

I'm not an expert or professional but I bought some recently to use for 'cut and shutting' 15mm central heating pipes, I didn't want to use solder joints because of the very close proximity to skirtings and carpet.

I did some trial assembly of the (copper) push fits before using in ernest. I found them very difficult and fiddley to get onto the pipe ends even after careful preparation. I decided to abandon them and settled for setting fire to the furnishings instead. This was completed successfully. :)

im no expert either...but i have used a push fitting as a quick fix for a problem connection to my wash basin....i found it really easy to fit..had no problems yet....was a bit expensive though.
