Pushon pipe connector for hot water

My bath water supply pipes are connected to the water by means of plastic pipes with inbuilt valves.

After changing a dripping tap valve I cannot turn the hot water back on as the small plastic screw in the pipe connector appears to be lodged and I am worried that further attempts may make it impossible to turn on the hot water again.

Does anyone have any suggestions re turning the screw and also if all else fails how much a plumber should charge to replace the small push on pipe connector with the valve in it?

The Speedfit iso taps (two tone grey) are off when the slot's across the pipe and ONLY turn clockwise to on with the slot in line with the pipe. If the slot's "gone" you could cut a deeper one with a hacksaw - carefully!

If you can turn the water off from the loft or airing cupd, etc, the plumber will know he has a much simpler job than it might be.

I hear so many folks are now trying to qualify in plumbing, it shouldn't be much trouble finding someone who will do it for nothing, just to get a customer reference and a job write up for their NVQ portfolio.

In fact you might even find someone willing to pay you for the privilege. Contact your nearest further education establishment.
