It seemed a good idea at the time. Painted walls with a nice border fixed with border adhesive. Now it's time to change it and border not required this time!
Top shiny layer peeled off nicely and most of backing paper came off with with a steamer but there is now a sticky band running around the room.
Tried sanding it - the friction warms it up and turns it to chewing gum. Clogs sand paper and sheet tears off elec sander.
Steam and scrape - turns to chewing gum and moves around the wall.
Scrubbing wit hot water and abrasive - works to a degree but takes about 10 minutes to get a 5sqcm clean whilst water streams down the wall making one hell of a mess . . . and will take forever.
Paint stripper - adhesive remains gummy and paint beneath becomes gummy too making it twice as bad!
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Would like some chemical to dissolve if possible. Driving me bonkers!
