PVC Door - Handle wont lift to lock

Hi all

My PVC door has an issue now where if you try raising the handle of the multi-point pvc door, the latches do not fully extend (and handle will not go more than 3/4 of the way up) and so you cannot lock it. This happens whether the door is open/closed.

Thoughts on common or likely causes and whether this is something which may be quite easy to fix?

Usually the multipoint mechanism failing, usually needs a new one.

If its doing it even when open then its either failing OR as has been known a bit of pvc swarf has fallen into the gearbox, i've removed before and given it a shake, a squirt of WD and bits have fallen out and cured it but that probably the exception, really hard to say

As as been said, as its doing it open as well as closed it will be the mechanism. Depending on the make you can replace just the gearbox rather than the whole mechanism
