Hi,

I have a few quotes for a conservatory, all in the same ballpark and to identical specs (e.g. glazing) with the the only difference being the PVC extrusion.

From what I think I understand how the frames are fabricated and put together will make more of a difference than the PVC profile. However, I just wondered whether anyone had any strong views/experiences on the following 70mm profiles:

Veka Matrix
WHS Halo Eclipse
Synseal Synerjy
Rehau S706

Any thoughts much appreciated. Hopefully they are all much of a muchness.

Many thanks,

Damian

All pretty good profiles, my order of preference would be...

Rehau
Veka
Synseal
WHS

I know you've specified synseal synerjy but JFYI synseal 'legend 70' is a direct copy of rehau s706 but uses 3mm walls instead of rehau's 2mm and may even be cheaper

Hi,

Thanks for the responses.

Do you have any reasons for your order of preference?

I guess I will also need to check which is a good match for an Ultraframe roof.

Many thanks,

Damian

My order of preference is based on quality of the extrusion and how fitter friendly they are, having fitted for 20 odd years i always looked forward to fitting rehau, mainly just survey for insurance companies now but if any frames are required i'll always specify rehau.

Veka will come a very very close second and is a very good alternative, synseal is an average to good, solid well engineered profile, WHS i've not had much dealings with recently but do know some colleagues that reckon its ok.

As for a match (im assuming colour) rehau will be fine with ultraframe, it'll also match well with K2 and eurocell

Thanks.

Been making some enquiries and going to have a look at the Rehau and Veka profiles. One thing I am not sure about with using Rehau for a Victorian bay conservatory is the joining sysystem, including the trims for covering the 135 degree joints.

Some if the extrusion companies are promoting aluminium purpose made aluminium joining systems. With the Rehau, I don't think there is anything specific available and you need to use a different manufacturers trim to cover the joints (e.g. Eurocell).

Feels a bit of a let down for Rehau conservatories?
