Pyronix Sterling 10 alarm suppressor fitting advice please

Hi Just fitted a Pyronix Sterling 10 alarm but cannot figure out where to connect the suppressor. It says fit it to the 12V auxilary supply that supplies all the PIR's etc but what does this mean -

Does it mean the supply coming out of the transformer because if so that is labeled 17V at the connection and not 12V?

OR

Does it mean at the battery connection which is labeled 12V but if so surely the battery is the backup supply so doesn't it follow that the suppressor will only cover the battery supply for spikes etc when it takes over and therefore the 17V normal supply will have no cover for spike protection?

Any advice appreciated.

I don't know the system that you refer to but if this is to reduce any AC component or transient noise component from "getting to" the alarm electronics then put it as close to the input to the alarm as you can on the 12 Volt DC input to the alarm PC board. The 17 volts sound like it might be before the voltage regulator?

On the main PCB board, along the bottom, are a row of screw terminals where you have connected the sensors.

Between the terminals marked 'Z3' & 'Z4' are two terminal marked '+AUX-' - this is where you should have taken the 12V supply to power the PIRs from.... you connect the 'supressor' there.

DO NOT fit it across the transformer - that is unrectified AC & dont fit it across the battery terminals.

Hi thanks for your help, basically the 240V comes in and goes to the transformer, the output of the transformer then connects to the PCB board where it shows 17V and the 12V battery connects to 2 terminals above that.

Yes it is for reducing any AC component of transient noise.

All the other connections seem to be for parts of the alarm ie PIRs and controls, I cannot find a 12V connection other than the battery and I don't think this is where it connects to.

Out of interest there are 2 Aux connections, there is one by zone 6 and 7 as well so would that be a possibliity too, or does it have to be on the one by Z3 and Z4 for any reason?

I'll guess that both AUX's are connected in parallel, since there is only one AUX fuse..... in which case either set of terminals will do.
