Had wooden floor installed in my new extension (6m x 4m) and planks warped after sometime. Dont want to risk it again with wooden floor, so decided to install porcelain tiles. Was told they would be really cold and unpleasant even with socks so advised me to install electric UFH.
Planning to buy materials in july, start ripping the floor out.
Could someone give me a quick crash course on ufh ?
Are they all the same? Which type is best/most efficient ? I know i will need insulation boards underneath it. 100w/150w/200w ?
What should i look for ? What i should avoid ?

Thx in advance !

Get a good electrician - it needs tested and signed off once laid.

2 reasons for UFH - one to warm the tiles - low output - 1 to aid in heating the room - higher output. That will determine the required output Watt per M2. if it's going under tile then a mesh mat would usually be used, embedded in adhesive - Use a detra mat (decoupling layer) for the tile too.

On 6 x 4 room i guess 5x 3 mesh and detra (ditra ?) mat should be enough ? Plus insulation board ?
Already have a nice radiator so ufh would be for tiles only.
