Hi can anyone tell me if its ok to tile, with quarry tiles, inside the opening where i am putting a log burning stove...I understand it will get very hot, so will they be able to cope...? Also what adhesive should i use?...Bill

Quarry tiles are fired in a kiln that gets an awful lot hotter than a hearth.

As P.B.D. says use sharp sand/cement mortar, no placticiser.

we're tiling onto brick/lime mortar. Bill
Just wanted to make sure no Gypsum wa involved. A decent cement powder adhesive will be OK up to 150 degrees C which should be more than enough for an opening where the stove is not in direct contact.
