    Hi all,
Bit of a weird place to ask this question and it's a bit of a surprise if I do get an answer but here goes..
I want to find out the nature of the lease agreement between a community venture renting land from a local authority. If I pay the small land registry fee will this bring up the terms of the lease ?
Will a freedom of information request to the local authority be an option?
Will contacting the community venture itself and asking them for a copy of the lease they have with the council be deemed appropriate? I'm not sure it would and I don't feel entitled to the information necessarily so it may be awkward.
I'm curious and want to know what's going on on the land.
    Many thanks for any information,...

Land Registry hold the title plan and the title description; they're unlikely to know or care about any leaseholds (other than associated covenants, perhaps) . I'm not sure, but I suspect that the terms of a local authority lease are public; an FoI would confirm it, if others here (or google) couldn't.

  11. Isn't a 'community' venture a sort of thing which should be open to the public :?: If there is something proposed for the land which requires planning permission that information is available to the public through the Planning Portal website.
