Hi,

Will soon be moving into my girlfriends house in Milton Keynes and have a question regarding putting a shed on a car port.
The carport is not adjoined to the house and is situated next to 2 others in a courtyard.
We know that we are not allowed to convert into a garage as I have asked the planning department in MK. But so far they have not come back with an answer about use of a shed on it.

Currently there is a tiny 4x6 on it that has been there for a few years no problem.
But we are thinking more like a metal one that uses most of the space available.

Would this be permitted?
We are going to ask owners of the other carports if they have any problems with this idea but would like to know if the council could do anything about this if we did put something there?

Thanks for your help

Thanks for the reply. Looking at Class E it seems to suggest we would be ok as there is nothing specific to a carport. As this is just a piece of land owned by us, we can erect a shed (no matter how large) on it, just as if it was in our garden.
Am I reading this correctly making the correct assumption?

Thanks

Just had a call from the local planning office and they think I need to put in an application due to the carports having a GDO in place. Something along the lines of possibly creating a precedent by building a shed.

So really not sure if we can or can't do this and the implications (if any) if we just go ahead and do it (assuming neighbours are ok with it).

Can anyone advise?

Thanks

Mark
