Hi looking for some advice.
Ive ordered a outset balanced flue gas fire from my local plumbing and heating shop. Its a Robinson willey firecharm room sealed rs.
My wall on the inside where the fire is going is a timber framed construction wall with pir insulation inbetween the timber batts and the outer leaf of the wall is brick.
Due to the wall inside is of combustible material (plasterboard, pir insulation and timber uprights) the manual says if i have a combustible wall buy a combustible wall kit.
When i ordered my fire the shop they called the manufacturer of the fire to order the wall kit from them but manufacturer is said the wall kit is obsolete and to find another alternative.
So the question is what would i need to buy to protect the flue coming into contact with combustible materials? My gas engineer said he hasn't come across this before but think using rockwall pipe liner of 140mm internal diameter would be ok is this correct? as he didn't seem too sure. Hes never had to do a job like it before but said he'll check.
Ive attached pics of my wall before and after the plasterboard went on to give you a better better idea and pic of the manual regarding timber frame wall and also the liner he intends to use.
