Question on render

You want sharp lines, going beyond/ over the bead would look terrible.

Right. What about the coloured render. Is 10mm ok or same apply? He said thin coat is better as thick tends to crack

unless i misunderstand your posts, from your pics you dont need a stop-bead you need a Bell Cast fixed at the base of any render.
the Bell Cast is set above any DPC in the wall or a min of 150mm above ground level.

when you say the render is off do you mean all the render is hacked off back to exposed brickwork?
why not post pics showing the whole of that wall?

the down pipe or gate post or whatever it is should be temporarily removed to enable a clean job.

whats happening when you reach the outside corners of the building?
or what do you intend at any window openings etc?
