Hi,

My house is only five yEars old but the rad in the ensuite needs replacing as it is rusted badly on the bottom. Seems the paint was scrapped off the bottom before it was installed. Probably scrapped across some concrete or something. I figure a chrome ladder type towel rail might as well goin if just as easy. I don't want to have to drain the system and adjust the pipe work though. Can you get towel rails with side inlet valves?
My pipes come from the wall and go out to the sides of the existing rad.

Thanks
Joel

Restricting yourself to not draining down reduces your options.

I have not thought about it before, but ladder rails do seem always to have downward facing tappings.

You could use a series of fittings to accomodete, but it is normally better to ".BITE THE BULLET" and plan the job properly.

Drain down and fit in the best position.

In my opinion, obviously.

Yes currently it's a standard steel rad. Thing is I suffer from M.E. so need to minimise the amount of work. I would get someone else to do it but can't afford to. So ideally I'd fit a same width rad -ladder type - but if you can't get side valve ones then I would have to fit an exact rEplacemen. Seems a shame to spend that energy and not get a better rad tho.
