Questions regarding repair to bathroom floor

In removing the tiled-in bath panel I have managed to break part of the top surface of the bathroom floor revealing a previous generation of tiles. Could anyone comment on what this type of material actually is and what steps could be taken to make a repair. Thanks.

the tiles are johnsons harmony (beige i believe) - now discontinued.

The stuff over the top is self levelling compound.

if your laying tiles, then i'd suggest taking the lot up.

What I should have explained is that a new bath has been installed with one of those crimes against humanity plastic panels as a temporary measure. I will need to make a frame for the new panel but I was not intending to lay new tiles and wondered if there were any alternative options that would look reasonable. Perhaps there are none?

oh i see. Some swear by vinyl, karndean in particular is well thought of.
