Questions to ask for a roofing quote

I've contacted a few roofing companies to come round to quote us for a reroof.

What questions do i need to ask so i can get a proper itemised quote without getting any shocks halfway through the job. Many thanks

Why do you think you need a reroof would be my first question?

What tiles do you want: will the existing roof structure carry the load if they are heavier than existing. What materials are to be used for flashing and vallies. Soffit, faschias and gutter done at same time? Provision for fully inspecting timbers and replacing any damaged.

I think it's fair to say that there are more rogues in the roofing sector than most, so it is crucial to pick decent companies by proper recomendation (ie not some random website set up to fleece tradesmen).

You should get a fully itemised quote from a decent tradesman the difficulty is comparing quotes to make sure they are covering the same things.
