Hi,

I've done a search but couldn't find exactly what I wnated...

... I'm adding a socket to my wall, I've cut it into the plaster and got the box in place.

My question is, I want to run the single socket from the ring main in the dining room, it's going to be for an LCD tv mounted on the wall.

There are three other double sockets in the room, one of which is a spur.

Can the single socket I intend to put on the wall also be a spur?

Hopefully that makes sense. Cheers :)

It can be a spur providing it is connected directly to the ring circuit. It must not be connected to the existing spur.

If the single socket is to be hidden behind your TV then it would be a very good idea to fit an FCU at normal socket height to supply the new socket, to allow you to easily isolate the TV should you ever need to. (In an emergency for example)
