I've never been brave enough to use a compression fitting on plastic pipe but it would save me some time if I did.

I know you have to use the plain ordinary pipe insert and copper olive with speedfit pipe but it's the number of turns to tighten I'd like to know about.

Speedfit say a maximum of two turns. Other sites say one full turn.

Which is it?

Oh and do you use PTFE?

Can't find the anwer with the search function.

No need for PTFE on a compression fitting.
If it is speedfit that you are dealing with and their instructions say 2 turns, then 2 turns it is. Hope this is useful to you

tighten it up if it leaks tighten some more, if you over tighten it could leak with no more room to tighten. Its better for a comp fitting to leak via undertightening (as you can tighten it up) than leaking from overtightening (as there is no where to go if youve gone mental! on it)

Take 2-turns with a pinch of salt ;) just tighten u ntil you feel resistance and give it some more!
