My roof has Marley sussex roof tiles and when the weather gets better I want to fit a vent tile for my bathroom.

I know that the tiles sits on battens fixed to the roof timbers. But are the actual tiles nailed down or is it just the top row and then all the others below it just rest on each of the next rows?

Any advice gratefully received.

:)

Some may be nailed some not.

The tiles can be pushed up thus exposing the fixings of the tile below.

It sounds like a 'Wessex' (not Sussex) tile.

Thanks for the replies and yes 'Wessex' it is. I knew it was a county down south near london
