If my BT line is (house was built early 80's) has 2 wires, blue and green, where do the go in the terminals? Is it 2 and 5? And which colour to which terminal.

Once this is done, I presume the internal cable uses orange into 3 for the ringer?

Many thanks.

I always remember it as " blue to 2, the other to 5" (internal Blue/white to 2 and white/blue to 5). Not sure of ringer but I think that you are right

The first socket from the exchange will work with either polarity, although best to have it right! Blue and Green.....I would assume it to be blue to 2, green to 5. If you have an NTE5 master, it would be green to B and blue to A.
