We have damp in our bedrooms on all walls serviced by gutters. We replaced the felt and now feel that the FSG need doing as that did not solve problem.
The whole length is 35m.
I have been quoted £2500-2700 to do the job. Is this reasonable and what should I ask the tradesmen in terms of work that should be done. We are installing air tiles and ventilation under soffits. The fascia boards are 18mm thick. Any brand or are they all same? The wall Just below gutters is having a silicone sealant applied too inc in price to prevent further ingress.
What type of gutter should we choose. Is ogee type better for downpours ??
Any help appreciated.

Sounds ok, we’d be more. If it’s all being stripped off and off a scaffold then fine. Ogee guttering is for conservatories. White square guttering is for council houses. You’ll need deepflow gutter (deep round) and round traditional downpipes.

Gutter profile depends on the style of house. Black ogee gutters and round rainwater pipes can look ok on various buildings. Manufacturers of rainwater goods have various sizes and profiles of 'ogee' gutters as well as half round and deepflow. White rainwater goods generally look crap on houses and round rainwater pipes are usually preferred.

Thanks for the replies
Not sure if it will look ok so want some advice.
The house is detached made by proctor brothers in the 70s. Front is stone profile rear is brick with stone rendering.
Would white gutters with white rainwater pipes be ok or would you go for black pipes and white guttering. Or just stay with black everything. It’s black now and all other houses are black gutters.

Why would you want black pipes and white guttering, or white rainwater goods when other surrounding houses are black :?::!:
Just have black gutters and black rainwater pipes ( with black brackets :D )

We liked the white guttering. Some houses opposite have white fascias.
We thought it would look odd having black pipes and white guttering so decided on white with white. Or should we go for black gutters and pipes with white fascia and soffits ?

 is this a wind up :?:
No it’s not.
Just spoke to installer who said he will be doing black Ogee guttering and downpipes with white fascia and soffits. We did see white rainwater goods on another house but although they look good they show dirt like green moss more and need more maintenance so we have stuck with BLACK.
