Hi

I have today rebalanced my heating system.
But now I find that some of my rads are making a hissing noise by the lockshield.
Any ideas what causes this and how can I stop it.

The rebalancing has worked and now my rad are now really hot.

Does balancing a system actually give better economy with gas usage?

Thanks

If you open the lockshield does the noise go ? You may need to open them a little bit more to stop it.

...although that will throw the balancing out.

If you don't have a combi you could try lowering the pump speed. However, this will increase the temperature drop across the boiler (indeed across all the rads too) which throw the system out of spec and may lead to insufficient flow at the furthest rads.

Is there at least one radiator with its LSV fully open?

Balancing can indeed lead to greater efficiency through better system efficacy and reduced cycling.
