These are tails with service valves set into them to enable you to turn off the trv & lockshield, plus the pair of service valves and then remove rads for decorating without loss of system water.
I mentioned they were available last year but they were only available from one online shop Select products.
I was in Homebase recently and noticed they were also now on sale there if anyone is looking for them.
I took advice from here and didnt have the plumber fit them when he installed my new system but in hindsight I now wish I had due to having to remove every rad in the house for decorating. I will now fit them as I take down the rads. I have some strong friends for the big heavy (full of water ) ones.
