radiant combi boiler

i have one of the above, not sure where to look for the model but it is making a noise, like a howling noise and the rads seem to get very very hot, the noise stops if you run h/w so i thought it might be the pump, changed the pump still the same probs, is it likely the 2 probs are linked and any ideas what might be the prob

having read other posts on here re boiler noises, i wonder if the problem could be kettling, i am not sure what causes this sludge by the sound of it, would this cauase the rads to get very hotor is it likely to be a stat gone, if so how do i find out which stat
