Hi, I have a similar radiator cover to the one below and they have given the following wood wedges to install on the wall. Having a nightmare on how to install it. Any one know any other way of securing the cover to the wall? I have acoustic wall panelling on the wall as well so ideally don't want to be making holes etc as putting screws through the panel makes them split.

Does it really need fixing to the wall?
I was thinking that to myself first. It is a large one and is currently standing. When I give it a wobble it does shake. I just want it to be firmly supported as you can't risk it falling as they might be a toddler near it etc. Hence why I am being precautious

Ive got the same ones, mark a line at the top measure the thickness of the top shelf and fit the wedge on the measured line.

Slightly confused. Also I have acoustic paneling on that wall, don't want to be putting massive screws through

I just hot glue a small piece on mdf with a right angle bracket on it to underside so bracket locks down behind rad . Just lift cover over rad .

I've got some of that paneling you can screw into it, with an inch screw maybe, get it right though obviously you dont want it ruined.

I tried putting in the screws they supplied and it slightly cracked wood, didnt bother trying anymore. What screw size would you recommend? A 25mm length?

when i make radiator covers
i supply long tapered wedges about 7 to 10 degrees to slide behind the radiator and stick up about 25-50mm beyond the cover top
you gently position the wedges slide the cover back
mark the top surface on the wedge then cut the wedges level with the underside off the top
you can pin/screw /dowel the wedges underneath with a bit off draught excluder foam on the wedge long edges to stop marking and take up slack

the wedge will start very tight until it shrinks a fraction with the heat
a second layer on top off the draught excluder will help iff excessive shrinking happens

if you do use metal brackets as abouve foam is a good idea to avoid scratching the radiator if just hooked behind

you need to check the radiator doesnt pivot on a high point when fitting any fixing as you need to make allowances or scribe the back off the top to sit propperly
