Hi There

Have taken off a masterpeice of craftsmanship whilst decorating room. We have an old one piece (no fins) radiator that is approx 750mm high by 3m wide which has ben mechanically bent to fit a rounded bay window. When lightly sanding gloss paint off have noticed some lumpy protrusions in metal which look ominous. Are these the start of metal fatigue/potential leaks?. Also should the screw valves (which normally have the removable screw down caps on) leak when turned on/off?. These have stopped leaking now but when I turned the screw you did get water seaping up through the screw, is this normal?

Yes it is normal. old ones get like that. You might consider fitting new valves while you are about it.
