radiator making tapping sound

one of my radators makes a tapping sound but the thing is that its never turned on. The others in the flat are on usually... any ideas. does it need bleeding?

Sound could be coming from another ppoint in system and being transmitted to this switched off rad. Try listening closely to other rads etc.

As said is coming from pipe work that is attached to this rad. Nothing you can do about it.
