Radiator Removal for decorating

I am removing a radiator for derorating the room. It has a Drayton TVR4 valve which continues to pass water when fully closed. I have tried a small piece if metal under the decorators cap but it still passes water.
Help please. All suggestions welcome.

either change the trv or just fit a 1/2" brass cap and seal while the rads removed.
