Hi

I am trying to locate new radiators to replace existing but have realized that newer radiators have different sizes and installation dimensions. Besides the fact that the lengths have changed, the distance out from the wall has changed making it necessary to modify the piping, but with them embedded in a concrete floor this isn't as easy as it sounds and to the necessary mods above floor level, will look tacky.

My house was build in the mid 80's. Is it possible I could still find rads today with the same dimensions and installation brackets etc?

For example, the radiator across the top is 640mm and sits about 70mm out from the wall (measured to the center of the actual radiator body)

I have looked around at Pluming shops but to no avail.

thanks for any advice and assistance.

a standard convector rad will give you 70mm from the wall to rad tail centres

thanks for the prompt reply.

I assume tail centers means wall to center of the fittings. In that case mine are 45mm.

just going by one suppliers measurements.
you can either alter the pipes or use a 7mm packer behind the rad brackets.
