Radiator thermostat.

I have attached an image of part of a small double radiator. Are thermostats provided for these radiators ot are they basically an on/off operation?

The valve in your pic is a wheel head ( just a manually operated valve).
You can have it replaced with a TRV if you wish.

Thanks. Do I require the whole valve or will just the head be OK ? Looks like the whole valve to me.

Both. (They normally come as a set).

But.

Trvs do close off the circuit so you need to ensure that this isn't a problem. If a plumber is doing it for you, ask him to check before he picks up the spanners.
