radiator too long

Hi,

Somewhat stupidly... I managed to buy a radiator that was 100mm wider than the existing radiator I wanted to replace. Having said that the room (kitchen) is actually very cold with just one radiator, so the bigger the better I guess. So just a general question, is it a huge problem to make it 'fit' ? The radiator pipes come up from a concrete floor (part of extension), so am I better to pay the delivery costs to get the right size or make it fit?

Will it fit in the space required? is it just the pipework that'll need altered?

Hi,

Yes loads of room to fit it.

errm.... in regards to the pipes, not sure exactly as not at home at the moment, but they are standard and I would have a guess around 15mm?

sorry, they are copper!

easy enough

drain

remove old rad

hang new rad

cut pipes

4 elbows and a bit of pipe

new valves

refill and vent

Or fit the rad so one end fits and only buy 2 elbows
