I'm about to buy a new radiator, I have the size I need but are radiator attachments all the same? I mean, do all radiators function the same, or do they vary which means I may need a different type of radiator for my heating system, or can I just pick up any from the shelf?

I have a combi boiler if that makes any difference.

Many thanks.

No thery're all the same, only difference is you get what you pay for (go to a plumbers merchants not the local diy stores) also remember to add inhibitor or it'll rust from the inside out.

Avoid Barlo radiators, and all others where the bleeding screw goes directly in the panel.
If the bleeding screw is in a large (about 20 mm) nut, you can replace it if damaged.
Why did you ask about different rads, are you thinking about something special?

I'm not looking for a special radiator, I was in a local builders merchant, looked at all the rads; shelves and shelves of them and just thought I better check before I buy one - thought I'd probably pick the wrong one up. I didn't look too close to see they had all the same connections - just thought it was worth asking before I cart one home.

Thanks for your help.
