Hi,
I need to bleed a radiator, as it is cold at the top of the radiator when the heating is on. The problem is I cannot seem to undo the radiator valve.

It's a typical Stelrad type radiator with a square bleed valve, I've tried with 2 or 3 different bleed keys but it won't loosen ! I have also tried WD40 to ease it but to no avail.

Are there any other methods I could use to open ?

Regards,

Turn off both the rad valves @ the bottom of the rad - then replace the whole vent plug , it might need a special allen key to unscrew the ventplug . new plug+ key + roll of ptfe tape to seal the threads - under a Tenner from a plumbers merchant or DIY shed ;)
