Radiator Valve Switch

As said ,that smart TRV should close when that towel rad isn't required to be heated,and the other valve should always be left fully on, and ideally replaced with a lockshield

I thought so too, however, it doesn't seem to be doing that! Do you have any views on why that might be / how I can fix it? The pin is a little stiff on the TRV side, but nothing crazy.

Given they both have pins, might it be worth switching the TRV to the other side, in case that makes any difference?
 
Worth trying swapping to the other side.
If that makes no difference, try a smart one that works from another rad.
