Hi

We are trying to remove a radiator to decorate behind it. The valve on the right (larger one with the screw which can be removed is fine, and can be turned all the way clock wise (closed?))
the one on the left which is smaller and with a plastic cover which cant be taken of just turns and turns.

What can we do? is it something we can deal with or should we get someone in?

Thanks
C

Take off the plastic cap and turn it off with a spanner or wrench... Thats the Lockshield valve.. The cap prevents it being shut off by mistake...

Tried to pull it off by hand no luck.
if we damage it to get it off is it easy to replace the plastic covering?
Thanks for the quick reply. :D

there are loads of different types, usually they need a good bit of force to get off... Sometimes the plastic will crack when forced, you may have to go to your local plumbers merchant for a new cover..

Remember to open the valve again when you are finished..
