Radiator wall bracket - can you cobble together your own?

Hello

I'm planning to buy a secondhand Bisque radiator - (can't afford a new one). The brackets to hang it on the wall are missing and it's now discontinued so I can't get the parts. Do you think it'd be straightforward enough to sort it yourself?

Are there any other dangers in buying a secondhand radiator - judging by the brand new price it's a high spec.

Don't think it will be easy at all.

Those brackets look pretty impossible to make.

How are you thinking of doing it?

i agree with andy your onto a very difficult task
its very easy to see how it works but impossible to replicate without hours off work and the right tools
even a simple alternative method off supporting is likley to be anything other than simple and not very flattering to the design

how heavy is the radiator and what colour/finnish is it!!

I was going to take in the replies on here and then go and see it again to see if any ideas came to mind.

Pay the £40 or so for a new rad and save yourself a lot of hassle.

Do that or pay an engineer £20 or so to make you something good enough.

Just hang it on a couple of biggish cup hooks, it will be ok!!!
then use MI for pipe work job done,
easy init when you know how.

I'd be happy to pay an engineer to make a proper job of it. So it's possible to sort, it just needs to be done properly by a professional?

Where do you find that kind of skill i.e what do I look up in the yellow pages?

4 X BSR unlined 3/4" pipe rings c/w 10mm tapping

1m x 10 mm screwed rod

4 x 10mm tappng backplates

job done

rod goes between backplate and BSR ring

you work out the sizes, you do the work, you use the brain power

A set of towel rail brackets such as eBay 180440653267 might be close, but I might err on the side of caution and use 6 depending on the weight.
