Our boiler and central heating system which has recently been flushed, and had a couple of rad valves replaced is now making strange noises.

When the heating has been run for a while, or when it is running at a high temperature you get a hum and vibration from the pipe near the pump (could also be the pump), this happens at the same interval almost as if something is travelling around the system, and you can also hear it in the boiler.

Along with this the radiator nearest the pump (a towel rail) needs bleeding weekly... as the top two rungs stop getting hot.

I am wondering if when the engineer fitted the new rad valves while he was quite forcefully pulling the pipes through the floor, a joint was weakened and air is now getting into the system....

Could this be an explanation for the humming/noise and bleeding... or can anyone suggest other reasons....

Many Thanks to anyone who can help.

Could be air getting sucked in. What speed is pump on - try reducing it if on max (usuallly"3").
Or it could be corrosion products gas circulating. Did he add an inhibitor? Could try adding more.
