My sister in law has asked me why the paint above her radiators is going black. Any ideas?

It is dust being picked up by convection currents (rads do relatively little radiating).

Tell her to clean the house once in a while.

You tell her to clean the house once in a while.. You dont know Scary Mary!!! Thanks for the reply....

I have a wife with borderline OCD, and the very strong memory of my Ex-ex-ex-ex girfriend called Mary who was half Italian and totally bonkers (thankfully the daft Doberman bodyguard she owned liked me as much as her  which the chaps that followed and preceded me can not say without wincing a little).

So would I???? maybe - my signature here used to be "I wish I was right half as much as my wife was wrong". It is very very true.

There is a theory amongst men - it is called " The Universal Constant".

It reads thus:

"Women, a pain in the a7se men unfortunately can only do without for so long; but as long as there is blood in their veins, you will ALWAYS be wrong, and when the blood has run dry/cold - it was your fault."

And as a man who has favoured foreign ladies.... I can honestly say it is a universal theory that Einstein and Hawkings would be envious.

Now my friend... it is the sister in law ... not your problem. That plank of a brother of yours married her - he's the one that has to don the saucepan helmet and brave the menstrual wrath. Sit back and enjoy - all the while being grateful to the big beer God in the sky that you don't have to mention it .

... and fit weather compensation so the radiators do not get too hot.
