Sister-in-law has the above, and her issue is with the hot water pressure, which is a trickle. She has been told by BG that her boiler is scaled up, and may need to be replaced. Second opinion from the 'specialists' out there would be appreciated :)

filter?? has cold water pressure dropped at all. go check neighbours cold water inlet see if any difference. its what id do

As above. Probably a filter in there somewhere. Although i have seen one of these boilers COMPLETLY scaled. As in no flow at all!

Thanks guys. The cold pressure is fine, the boiler is a few years old, and she has only been in there for 8 months or so. It's a rented flat, and the landlord has been told about the boiler being scaled up by BG. She said that the engineer 'poked about a bit' inside the boiler casing for about '5 minutes without getting any tools out'. Not being familiar with gas boilers ( I'm an oilman :) ), didn't want to tell her that the engineer was wrong

I'll advise her to get a second opinion.

The 24i has a bi flow heat exchanger so its very possible the HW side is scaled up.
but have you checked the filter on cold inlet ,think it is just by the flowswitch

I will pop round there tomorrow after work and have a look.
She will be forever grateful if I can give her some decent pressure, so to speak ;)

Cheers Namsag :)
